Good movie but grossly overrated
brilliant actors, brilliant editing
Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Norma (Hiltz) is a pretty blonde who wants the hell out of her trailer park life and sees her boyfriend as the one to save her from it. When he is brutally impaled by some of the trailer parks redneck lowlifes Norma snaps and leaves. She runs into the Devil (Trace Adkins) on the way out of town who encourages her to get her revenge. Norma returns to fill everyone full of holes and blows the place up along with herself. Jump some years in the future when a religious leader and his teenage group land in the trailer park to find Norma and the sicko rednecks back from hell to terrorize them. Director Steven Goldmann lets it all hang out in this never to be taken seriously horror show. Every character is a cliché even though you do feel bad for Norma in the beginning. There isn't a sympathetic character around and everything is disgusting, dirty and filthy which is apparently how Goldmann wanted it. The story makes little sense and the film makers and writers don't seem to care. Plenty of gore, blood and sickening sleaze are on display but of course none of it is scary or suspenseful. This is a distasteful film that is meant to be just that. There are some horror fans that may enjoy the grimy proceedings and the over the top mean spirited characters, but others will find it a chore to sit through. Which one are you? Identify and either skip it or look forward to it.
Wow! This movie totally took me by surprise. Initially I bought it because it is a zombie movie, but I had not imagined that the movie would be this cool. If you liked "Shaun of the Dead", then you definitely want to check out "Trailer Park of Terror".The story is pretty straight forward, and as you would expect of any horror movie; something sinister happened in the past, then many years pass by and a bunch of teenagers find themselves in the location of the grizzly deed that happened many years in the past. And then it all takes a turn for the worse. Enter the hillbilly zombies! "Trailer Park of Terror" combines three great things into one great movie; humor, gore and really amazing zombie make-up. I was in awe at the effects of this movie, and it was really obvious that Drac Studios are really knowing what they are doing. Hats off to them for the amazing effects they have pulled off on the zombies in this movie. That make-up and special effects alone make it worth sitting down and watching the movie. And the music score/soundtrack for this movie was really great as well. Very well picked music that worked well for every scene. And the song that the zombie was singing when he was on top of the trailer, that was just phenomenal. It was so well placed for the movie and the timing of the story. The cast they put together for this movie was nice as well, though I didn't really recognize anyone here. But that doesn't matter, because they did great jobs, and it is refreshing to see new faces in movies every now and then. And I must say that it was really the zombies that carried the movie, because they had so much personality, and they were hilarious. (Plus their make-up really helped them well along the way.)"Trailer Park of Terror" is really a gem much like "Shaun of the Dead" in the zombie genre. There is a lot of humor in this movie, so don't except to see a Romero style zombie movie here.I am a huge fan of zombie movies, and once in awhile I stumble upon a zombie movie that perfectly incorporates comedy into an otherwise gore-stained and serious genre. "Trailer Park of Terror" is a definite MUST watch for all zombie fans.
In terms of content, there's nothing in Trailer Park Of Teror to mark it out from any other zombie-based horror with humour - lots of gore, lots of grotesque killings, good makeup, and an above average snappy script.Where this movie really succeeds, though, is with the acting. There are some genuinely decent performances here, none more so than in the lengthy opening sequence which I found more horrifying than the more conventional horror shenanigans which took place after the opening flashback. So there may not be any surprises in what you get: conversely, you may well be quite surprised at the quality of how it is delivered to you.
"Trailer Park of Terror" is another new movie to cash in on the contemporary immensely popular trend of 70's horror revival. These movies intend to re-create the Grindhouse atmosphere through a combination of raw atmosphere, hillbilly characters and extreme nihilistic violence. What better setting to combine all these elements than a trailer park full of Southern yokels, director Steven Goldmann ingeniously must have thought, and he looked for inspiration in the repertoire of Imperium Comics publishing. For the most part, he succeeded. "Trailer Park of Terror" is a repellent and occasionally quite provocative trash-movie with all the clichés and stereotypes you expect (and hope) to find in this sort of film. It's a kind of tawdry fairy-tale, but one with sleazy protagonists and loads of foul language. One part of the film actually illustrates the life and suffering within a trailer park located somewhere either in Tennessee, Georgia or Northern Alabama (the plot is never clear on that) and the other part takes place nearly 30 years later, in present day, when a bus full of juvenile delinquents and their chaperon get stranded in the area and have to spend the night there. For you see, the trailer park grounds have been cursed ever since Norma, a feisty white trash babe, accepted the gun of a long-haired stranger and annihilated the entire park because they killed her rich lover boy and thus ruined her chances of ever getting out of there. Now, Norma and the rest of the rednecks live on as zombies and feast their Southern lusts on the innocent passerby. Norma herself likes to chop off heads whilst having sex, heavyweight lady Larlene is always on the lookout for "fresh meat", Miss China gives very deadly massages, Stank has a recipe for human jerky and rocking zombie Roach has explosives planted all over the park. The sequences that are actually taking place in the trailer park are the undeniable highlights of the film. It barely takes two extended scenes to show all the typical clichés linked to this particular social habitat, like prostitution, domestic disturbance and plundering. The plot with the teenagers trying to survive is more familiar and derivative, but still there are some inventive murders and quite a lot of engrossing special effects. Most of film takes place during night time, so you'll often find yourself staring at a black screen and the editing is quite rough. The soundtrack is pretty cool, with a combination of country music and hard rock, and the cast is appealing.
