Watch Carry On Columbus For Free

Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

Go in cold, and you're likely to emerge with your blood boiling. This has to be seen to be believed.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

The last film with the Carry On imprimatur in the title from the United Kingdom was not as bad as a lot would have you believe. But Carry On Columbus which came out in 1992 suffered from the fact that very few of the players who graced the series back in its salad years are in this cast. You long for the presence of Kenneth Williams, Sid James, Kenneth Connor and Charles Hawtrey. But by 1992 three of those four were no longer with us and seeing this you can't help wish they were.Jim Dale who plays Christopher Columbus was the only one in the cast who had Carry On experience to an appreciable degree. Jon Pertwee who did a few of the films in small roles was also in the cast, but a whole new generation of comics and comic players from Great Britain and America grace this cast. The funniest is Julian Clary who plays the morale officer on the Santa Maria and is one of the campiest characters you'll ever want to meet.Poor Columbus, as in history he has this idea about sailing west to find a new route to the Orient and the trade there. But in Carry On Columbus Dale and others have to contend with the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire who gets his cut coming and going through his domain. A new sea route to the Orient would deprive him of considerable revenue, so he's got agents to stop Columbus. And what agents they are.It's not a bad film, but below the standards set by the Carry On regulars in their hay day.

I love the carry on films and will defend this particular one as I think it was good, it was not as bad as some people make out, the only thing I hated about it was that they had Americans in it and they should never have done that, the carry ons are not about the Americans, but apart from that I found it a funny film and Jim Dale is brilliant in it as usual. I know it didn't have the rest of the cast in it that we all love and no so well, but come on guys this film was not that bad and was a nice tribute to the originals. However I do think that no more carry on films should be made now as the talent just isn't there anymore, the stars of today are just not carry on material, they are not funny and do have enough to class to make a carry on film work, we should all just remember and cherish the originals now and forget about making anymore.

The problem with this film is there are too many alternative comedians in big parts when they are lousy.alexi sayle keith allen peter richardson they should never of been cast.yet rik mayall who does an excellent kenneth williams at the start of the movie gets one scene.rik mayall julian clary were excellent jim dale too.but bernard cribbins oh dear he relly was awful. and as for the yanks being smarter than us,well i expect it in a american film but a british one.when you think that the cast of only fools and horses dawn french lenny henry could of been used this does come across as a missed opportunity.

I think the best way of describing this film would be to start by saying that I am an avid cinema attendee and like to visit at least once a week and have done so for getting on for over ten years, and without doubt this is STILL the worst film that I have ever had the misfortune to endure. It's one of those films were you want to leave but don't because you're sure that it must get better.... and then it ends!The story is so thin and uninspiring that you wonder why the film company decided to bring this great long running series out of retirement after all these years merely to kill it stone dead. In summary awful doesn't do it justice.
