Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Simply A Masterpiece
Absolutely Fantastic
A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
"Mom", from the author and screenwriter Girish Kohli, is a Hindi film subtly made with nuanced lightings of shades by Ravi Udyawar, his first cinematographic achievement, but why Mom? While the first subject is rape, worse, a rape gang committed on an 18-year-old girl by four young men. The victim, Arya, exceptionally incarnated by the Pakistani actress: Sajal Ali who is actually 23 years old shines "black" on the screen. Her character undoubtedly puts them on the accused bench unfortunately of a lax and partial justice . Therefore, for this heavy and irreparable tribe caused to her daughter-in-law, Arya, "Mom" - Devki, played excellently by Sridevi (300 films in all until now !), will make herself a justiciary for love for her who nevertheless excecures her to its paroxysm. An ordinary professor of biology (Sridevi) will implement her thirst for justice without intending to kill or almost? A consciousness that she tries to awaken to the rapists with regard to what a mother is capable when someone calls "Mom" for help ... Her co-stars: Sajal Ali, Akshaye Khanna, Adnan Siddiqui and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are each in their key role, incredible with a touching psychological personality for the viewer. The important thing in this film is not really how Devki (Sridevi) takes revenge on this "unfair justice" by foiling, in addition, the police investigation. Confident, She benefits the help and human understanding from the people around her. She first turns to the hijras community (the third sex) who are their students, among ohers, then Detective DK (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), compassionate and revolted by the verdicts of rape in India, and finally Matthew Francis (Akshaye Khanna), anchored in his faith, in the film, he signs himself ...Matthew understands how to release the evils and heal the indelible wounds even if Devki loses faith and deferred to her mother's instinct while her husband, Anand (Adnan Siddiqui), keeps it in adversity. Ravi Udyawar makes our imagination work in raw scenes such as rape, the prison environment or a painting by Draupadi such as the epic of the violent and deadly Mahabharata. Nothing spares us, like the enchanting and spicy music of Allah Rakha Rahman melodically black in this particular context. A must see! For an informed public, for all the political, educational and police institutions of India or not, before being ourselves confronted with an ultimatum: to choose between the bad and the worst by listening to what our conscience dictates to us in the absence of a transparent justice . I congratulate in passing the audacity of Boney Kapoor for having produced this film with Zee Studios. It should be noted that Boney Kapoor had produced the excellent film about a controversial subject: "Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women" by Manish Jha in 2003.
Very nice effort by director Ravi Udyawar. It is one of the most sensitive and realistic Hindi movies that I have seen in a long time. Almost all the actors have done justice to there roles. Sridevi as we all know was an amazing actress and she did an excellent job once again. Nawazuddin appeared in a cameo all did very well, but the most impressive of the lot was Sajal Ali, she was exceptional with her expressions sometime she did not even speak but her eyes tells the pain and anger that she was going through. Adnan Siddiqui also was impressive.
The movie was so good. Sridevi and everybody acted very well in the movie. Songs were not good but BGM in the movie was so good. The movie was so interesting and thrilling. But the movie has some logic mistakes and there were some vulgar scenes. But the movie was so good.
Mom is a film co-written and directed by Ravi Udaywar. After seeing the trailer for the film, I was quite intrigues to watch it. But after finally watching the film I can safely say that this is one of the best performances Sridevi has given to date Plot: Devki and her family fight for justice when her daughter Arya gets raped.Story and direction: The film has a subject that has been dealt in one of the films earlier this year. But this film is much darker and realistic as compared to the other film. Here many more issues are dealt with. The 'step' angle that was introduced in this film was shown quite nicely here. The hatred when we feel that someone tries to take some other person's place is realistically shown. Then we have the Delhi school environment that was shown so correctly. Also, I liked the name the writers chose for the protagonist: 'Devki'. This word promotes motherhood in the best way possible. This film also went on to show that no matter it's your own child or someone else's, a mother is a mother. The cinematography deserves a lot of praise. I liked the way how realistic Delhi and the snowy place was filmed. Some of the faults I felt was of the structure in the way the film was built. The structure felt quite guessable. Also I felt the ending was a bit abrupt.Performances: Sridevi gave her career best performance in this film. I was highly impressed by her giving that I didn't like her in her previous ventures. Akshaye Khanna was also great and I consider him quite an underrated actor. Nawazuddin Siddhiqui was also good and his get up was quite awesome, Adnan Siddhiqui and Sajal Ali were good too. The rest of the supporting cast was great too.Music: A R Rahman, I would say did a fair job in the film. It's not one of his best works but still its good. The background score had many repetitions and singing voices which irritates you. 'O Sona Tere liye' was a hummable track of this film.Favorite Scene: The scene where Devki sees Arya in the hospital. I literally had chills in that scene. And the way Sridevi emoted was spectacular.Verdict: Not one of the greatest films of all time, but the film is a very good watch. I had a nice time watching this film. Watch it for Sridevi's performance.I am going with an 8/10.
