Powerful
Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
I decided to rewatch this after giving it a 6/10. I watched the Ultimate Edition and I'm glad I did. Now it makes sense. It's long - but, it's so much better. Whoever edited it down should be held responsible for the bad ratings. This is a great movie. Please, watch the Ultimate Edition, which is what Zack Snyder intended you to see.
It is one of the best movie ever made on comic characters and director zack snyder has shown us what is the real meaning of cinema based on comics. Symbolism at its best
This movie did not make sense for the second film to expand the DCEU. Instead of this being the second DCEU film, Warner Bros should have made a Man of Steel 2 or Batman movie. Additionally, the marketing for this was awful because one of the trailers revealed doomsday and Batman and Superman working together, which were supposed to be the surprises of the movie. Batman's motivations against Superman are clear in this, but Superman's motivations against Batman are nonexistent and don't make sense. Wonder Woman was great in this movie and had really good fight scenes. The worst part of this movie was Lex Luthor. Jesse Eisenberg is a great actor, but he is just not meant for the role of Luthor. His character is just annoying and does not come across at all as smart or intimidating. Ben affleck is great as Batman and is very intimidating. Superman barely has any dialogue in the movie, which really hurts his character development. Having doomsday appear was a terrible idea. He looked terrible and wasn't intimidating. A main problem with this movie was that they tried to cram way too much into it. This movie had to be a sequel to man of steel, introduce Batman and Wonder Woman, set up Justice League, and have the death of Superman.
Being a fan of all DC and Marvel movies cartoons etc, I am sad to say that they get worse every year. More films with no story whatsoever, hoardes of superheroes in chaotic battle with CGI unrealistic monsters and no end to it all. I have read more entertaining scripts by preschool children. Too bad about the actors and the money spent. Don't waste your time..watch Superman Man of Steel or Wonderwoman instead.
