I'll tell you why so serious
Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Movie Review: "Pan" (2015)Despite having an outstanding cast surrounding Hugh Jackman, performing as Captain Blackbeard in stellar costume and make-up and bringing together actress Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily and Garrett Hedlund, giving face to an much more humanized 20-something Captain Hook, director Joe Wright, receiving the highest Hollywood high-end of his career, nevertheless losing the strings along the way through post-production, when the editorial of a 105-Minutes seems utterly unbalanced, where only single scenes as Captain Blackbeard's amazingly performed introduction with a singing and dancing Hugh Jackman on a massive sailing ship's deck in splendid production design by Aline Bonetto can convince.FAZIT: Picture rejected (butchered)Cinemajesty Entertainments 2018
This whole movie is just wrong. I'm not familiar with the original Peter Pan story but I hope that has very little resemblance to this disaster. This is a complete waste of money and acting talent. The whole making was all over the place. Extensive use of CGI on something which is far from mere average. Everything seemed unorganized, even sometimes forced. The acting was mediocre. One can even argue that there were nothing to actually act on. Very little to no character development for the supporting roles. I was seriously wondering who thought this story might actually work!!To the people who haven't seen this I must say....don't waste two hours of your life on this.
THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!.I honestly love peter pan and I'm a huge fan ! its my favorite movie and i have seen, every single movie.Although this isn't the normal story line, it was a nice twisted, I love how they showed hook and peter become friends and i would love to see how they ended up at the end of this movie!! PLEASE NUMBER 2! also, i would love if someone did a movie when peter brings Wendy's daughter to Neverland!!!!Peterpan Peterpan Peterpan Hook Hook Hook PAN PAN PAN PAN All you need is trust and a little bit of pixie dust.AND AWAY WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!
It is so important to note that this is a RETELLING of a classic story. This isn't quite the Peter Pan you already know, and it's not meant to be!Also important to note that this is an ORIGIN story; Peter was not yet the legendary Pan. An EXCELLENT job by Levi Miller as Peter, the real lead of the movie, by the way.Another reviewer noted that it was not quite a movie for young children; the feel is somewhat dark, there is death of adults and children alike (though it is not gory). I would agree with that reviewer, and I personally figure that it could have been more clearly expressed in the marketing that; along with not being the story people are accustomed to hearing when they think of Peter Pan, the story is also a bit more harsh and not geared toward YOUNGER children. Mind you, it IS rated PG rather than G, so I suppose that could have been a clue for parents - ratings are given for a reason, afterall! In any case, I took this movie for the darker, reworked variation that it is meant to be; and as a result, I loved it. Visually it's just stunningly beautiful, with seamless effects; the villain has a solid reasoning behind the villainy (rather than just innate evil); and the storyline is very well executed.Shame about all the negative feelings people have towards this movie; I would have loved to have seen a sequel!
