Memorable, crazy movie
If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
The movie really just wants to entertain people.
After watching 28 days later .I think i should watch this . the first 20 minutes of the movie is great but after that there are many scenes which i found illogical and stupid . there is a genetically immune women who is suppose to be a vaccine and cure for the infected but brutally killed by his Stupid and Coward husband . There is several scenes in that movie which resembles itself with the original 28 days later about humans and human emotions but all the emotions are float away with that stupid code red fire explosion . The explosion is so Stupid not because of the bad script but also because of Stupid CGI.
As far as Horror movies go I usually stay away from sequels etc as they rarely live up to their expectations and this was no exception. I did expect gore and being completely honest I was hoping for a bit of story line that didn't fall into the cliché category, but I was wrong on the second one. If you liked the first movie then I do not see the point in spoiling your love by watching this movie. If you liked the first one, but still want to give it a chance due to the actors in the cast then go ahead, but be prepared to face some very bad acting. My score was given solely on everything summed up together.
Ah man, I remember when 28 Days Later came out...I wasn't old enough to see it, but I saw some clips of the opening sequence and I loved the abandoned London feel.Needless to say, when I saw it it was...and still is...an incredibly good film. So I came to check out 28 weeks later.Basically the 'rage' virus has apparently died out and so people start to live in London again, which seems to have been taken over by the Americans. Two kids are reunited with their father (Robert Carlyle) and all is happy in the rebuilt world for a day or so.The kids proceed to sneak out and go to their old house, and in the panic that ensues, the zombie plague rises again. But there's something special about these two kids...and everyone around them is very keen to keep them alive.First of all I loved the scenery in this - the landscape shots are brilliant, and it has this dark - quintessentially British - feel to it, the kind of channel 4 movie feel. Which works well and ramps up the creeping feel of dread at times. It also has a lot of frantic shots - e.g scenes in very claustrophobic areas that are cut very quickly to build tension. A lot of the time this works, but as a viewer I like to know what's going on and this style of film-making took that away from me at times. Was good to see Imogen Pootz in this, her career has since gone up and up - Carlyle is good value too, although doesn't get much screen time. The opening quarter of the film is good, but sadly it fell apart from there - I didn't feel that involved in the two main children characters, and wasn't really rooting for them and I found the ending really disappointing. As I saw the final few shots I had to roll my eyes.Call me cynical but if you liked the first one, don't bother. The zombies are the same - and yes, they are scary - violent, mindless fountains of speed and rage that you feel hopeless against - but other than that you're better off visiting the original again or going to see some classic Romero flicks.
Wow, just wow. I might not've liked "28 Days Later" that much, but compared to this, it's the greatest film ever made! For some reason, the makers of this film decided to treat it's audience like idiots for 100 minutes! I am insulted that I saw this, the fact that this was shown to people that paid money for it insults me. This is easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen, it's up there with "Iron Man 3", "Prometheus", and "Silver Linings Playbook".So what do I like about this movie? Everything before the two stupid kids show up, which is the first 10 minutes. Everything after they show up is pure and utter stupidity. What makes this movie so bad? Oh just give me a minute, I'm about to tear this movie to shreds. Who thought it was a good idea to have a safe zone, surrounded by areas still infected? The US military? Despite what some people think, the US military is not that stupid! And so much for it being a "safe zone", because two kids are able to sneak out without being detected! Also these kids run into their mom, who somehow managed to survive this long. How did she get out of that room full of infected? Never explained, "Huge Plot Hole #1". So because the kids find her, she's brought into the safe zone, every single death from here on out is because of these two brats! If they hadn't left the safe zone (like they were told before they got there), their mom would've been found by the soldiers and handled more appropriately. Also, apparently for a military unit in the middle of a bunch of infected areas, they have no contingency whatsoever other than to fire-bomb the area. Again, the US military is NOT this stupid! So the "Idiot Squad" is about to get picked up by a military chopper, but the pilot only wants Jeremy Renner. So what does he do when one grabs on to the chopper? Fly around radically in circles! Are you serious?!? Military pilots are not trained like that, how stupid does this movie think I am!?! Renner sacrifices himself instead of letting the military know he's one of them. Why? Never explained. I could go on and on about how terrible this frickin' movie is, but the more I think about it, the angrier I get.Watch anything other than this, anything. Watch the first movie, watch "Unfriended", watch "The Shining", watch "The Thing", anything that isn't this piece of trash!
