The Smurfs 2
The evil wizard Gargamel creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. But when he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants, and only a secret spell that Smurfette knows can turn the Naughties into real Smurfs, Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and brings her to Paris, where he has been winning the adoration of millions as the world¹s greatest sorcerer. It's up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity to return to our world, reunite with their human friends Patrick and Grace Winslow, and rescue her! Will Smurfette, who has always felt different from the other Smurfs, find a new connection with the Naughties Vexy and Hackus or will the Smurfs convince her that their love for her is True Blue?

hyped garbage
Highly Overrated But Still Good
A lot of fun.
The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
The smurfs 2 was on TV and I missed the beginning so it was hard to get into, I watched about 2 minutes of it until I got distracted and emailed a beet farm. Don't think I'll watch the end but it was alright. Would recommend. I digress the film offered me nothing new and left me almost in shock, from the unoriginal plot. Honestly I'm only 10 minutes into the film but yolo its low key sick Niel Patrick Harris was OK nothing to write home about tho A cat was blown up not sure about that tbh thought that was a bit off but :-/ Their feet are too big and it creeps me out, what's under those shoes? Do they have toes? Why is this big human going after a bunch of blue humans? Just leave them be!! Also how did papa smurf get to have red clothes is he the high priest of the smurf world or something?? How does one obtain red clothes? Asking for a friend.
Now, before you go renting this movie, the Smurfs 2 is a CGI adaption of the cartoon, hand drawn smurfs in the 70s-80s. Few would consider this a "classic". In fact I would consider the classics. The new sequel for the CGI Smurfs has your always "happy ending" and cheesy jokes. At first, Vexy and the other evil smurf (created by gargamel to get revenge on the smurfs) are villains, antagonists, and they turn Smurfette, (Gargamel's original creation) into a villain. Of course in the end, Vexy and the other smurf become good and are accepted as a good smurf. Right in the middle of this movie, it was easy to predict good things would happen. The punchlines are always, cheesy. I honestly thought this movie was a drag and a single laugh didn't come out of me. Especially the "Right in the smurfberries" and "Oh my smurf" which cover up for iffy subjects. The antics are very cheesy as well with getting hit and making messes, farting burping, or being messy. Little kids under 9 would really like this title, and it's more of a family title than something cool pre-teens would watch on a summer day. Nothing very special here at all.
Love the animation,Love the story,Love the comedy,Love the acting by Brendan Gleeson,Love the acting by Hank Azaria,Love the acting by Neil Patrick Harris,Love the direction by Raja Gosnell ,Great choice of location Paris, really enjoy it with my little brother i was not expecting the film could be so great and have such a great message that how important is the family,i don't know why its have such a low rating its very funny and enjoyable for every age group.if you like to see a good film with your whole family which must have good acting with good comedy, good story, good animation then this film is one of the best choice for you....
There's no point in pulling punches here because, let's face it, these movies are meant as a distraction for kids. The jokes are bad, the acting is cheesy and the story isn't complicated. The whole point of the first film was to be something that will dazzle children with jokes only kids can laugh at and some brightly colored characters dancing across the screen. The formula for this sequel doesn't change that. The only real difference I saw in this one was that it looked like the writers were trying to add a little more heart to the story by throwing in heavy elements of belonging and family. Smurfette feels isolated because of her lineage and doesn't feel like she belongs with the Smurfs while Patrick's stepfather comes into play and feels he's being pushed away from his stepson as he desperately tries to be a positive and loving influence in his life. I honestly enjoyed this part of the film but hated that it was surrounded with really bad jokes filled with "blue" gags and using the word "smurf" so much that the joke lost all its meaning in the first five minutes and acting that is gorged on scenery to the point of indigestion.Once again, this movie is intended to bring smiles to little kids who still think boogers are the height of cuisine but, at least, the film felt like it was trying to make some improvements and strides to make this a better family film than the last one...also, the special effects are still decent, so it has that going for it.Hi!
