It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.

This movie shows us exactly how the Illuminati find and manipulate their celebrity members for mind control. The whole movie is about removing fear from the subject by continuously scaring their victims past the point of death. This is done in order to create a split//dissociated personality that they can control. A personality with no fear and no memory of any event it encounters when it's activated. You can see this in celebrities at times when they have temporary glitches and when they discuss alter egos like Sasha fierce for Beyoncé and Ramon for Nikki minage. You actually get to see some of the actual methods of torture they use in order to create these dissociations in their victims such as prying their eyes open to watch something traumatic with no ability to close their eyes to shield away from it or even blink and being submerged in a vat of blood. These are some of the exact methods of torture and initiation the Illuminati uses through mk ultra mind control to create slaves and instruments for their power and to execute on their demands. You can watch the transition from her normal person character turn into this Illuminati mind controlled monarch dissociated personality Illuminati slave that supposedly is no longer human and is now illuminated. Just plain sketchy but worth knowing about.

Those who've rated this highly are too easily entertained. If you're given a drink through a straw upon arriving somewhere after being kidnapped, don't trust that. You don't know what it is you're drinking, and sure enough, the character's told it has sleeping pills. Stupid decision (typical). Then the bad guys shove personal questions down her throat and she grudgingly answers all of them. Why? I wouldn't answer a single one. Sure enough, it wasn't smart; it got her screwed in the long run. Furthermore, how is it that this place has readily available any and everything these victims particularly fear? Unrealistic. Also, how is it that she has absolutely zero means of escaping after freeing herself? The outlet to the roof wouldn't be impenetrable; that's a safety hazard. How does the elevator not work for her? What if the BAD guys needed to use it? And this whole time, which lasts quite awhile, they would've checked back with her in her room by now and saw she's missing. Once she IS found out as escaped, she shows up on the map as the only dot. There's a LOT of victims in the building. And I don't recall her getting a tracking device implanted on or in her. At that point, the bad guy raises a glass door that happens to be right where she's hiding to trap her and activates sleeping gas in her confinement? These weirdos sure seem to have every angle covered. Ridiculous

We have had our share of invaders and body snatchers, but 'Rupture' manages to be quite inventive and is so unsettling that it gave me the sweats. I was well into the movie before I got an inkling who the kidnappers really are. Nope, no genre clichés here.Noomi Rapace's acting is very good (Revenge! Revenge!, I was screaming silently) and the rest of the cast is also highly effective. So, that one special effect wasn't necessary, or could have been done in a more subtle way, as the calm humane smiles of the abductors are horrifying enough in themselves. Reminds me of Rosemary's Baby where the cove celebrates the birth of Satan's son in the best of spirits and all keep treating the totally freaking out mother with a maddening mix of indifference and kind patience. Quite chilling. The movie is what Homo sapiens regards these days as slow. It didn't bother me at all, I was spellbound from beginning to end. I gambled on (even hoped for) an 'unhappy' ending, and yes. I read that that's what irked about half of the viewers. Yet it seems to me that the makers kept the door for a possible sequel ever so slightly open. I'm a conservative sequence & prequel & spin-off hater, but for once I would welcome a Part II. Although this cast is wonderful, I think it would then be best if it featured a different one (continuing with Renee's son for instance, and again No Happy End!). Whatever director Steven Shainberg and screenwriter Brian Nelson may tackle next, I'm going to keep an eye on them. I found the dialogues not easy to understand, particularly during the soft spoken and even whispered moments. Screened a copy with a low volume threshold. But hey, as a foreigner I am also linguistically not fine tuned...

Single mom Renee (Noomi Rapace) is alone driving when she gets a flat. Some men stop and kidnap her. It's a secret organization and they have more prisoners to conduct experiments on. Peter Stormare, Ari Millen, Michael Chiklis and Kerry Bishé play some of her tormentors. This seems like a small budget indie with not much in terms of writing or production. So it is very surprising that it has such good actors. Shainberg must have great connections. He got great actors in his other films despite not really proving much other than some experimental creds. I guess this has some outlandish aspects. It is not a simple slasher porn or a Twilight Zone sci-fi. It is not a grotesque bloody horror and there is nothing profound working here. It is a nothing indie.
