An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

After the war between humans and vampires ended, both sides were sealed in hermetic places, where theoretically, there was no escape. Priests were highly-trained vampire killing "machines", in service of the church and sworn protectors of humanity. Lucy, one of the priests' niece has been kidnapped by vampires, so in order to save her, he must break his vow and leave the city, leaving it vulnerable to vampires who were planning something really big for humankind.It has a fantastic world, with a grade of sci-fi which I liked a lot. It reminds me of "Equilibrium", another movie with similar characteristics and plot. The action sequences were absolutely superb alongside a good story which keep you thrilled and excited all the time. It's a great movie but unfortunately, its course of events are a bit too linear and predictable for my taste while the ending is a bit disappointing but I'm glad they left room for a sequel. A must see!

Bearable Action Scenes with absolutely NO story at all.the Bike is one such challenge to be built, with Turbine beneath the Seatthe beginning plot and opening background build up sets high hopes but turns out exactly the opposite. the Movie falls off even before it could even gain some momentum.History of the Comic strip made me watch it, and with such a story, I can only imagine what the Comic series goes all about.Lead Cast is fine, only if he had chosen a better movie to play to Lead than this.

My quick rating - 5,9/10. Now that is a fun movie. A "Priest" is basically the badasses who protect the city in a post-apocalyptic city that is run by religious radicals. They are walled into the city to keep away from the vampires that live outside the walls that supposedly had all been terminated. But these aren't your every day vampires, they are mutated and don't have interest in romantic bites to turn you into one of them. basically they want you dead. After a "priest" (Paul Bettany" has his niece kidnapped, he goes looking for her and confronts the whole band of vampires. A fun action/scifi ish movie that just goes all over the board in the action department. Definitely worth watching and strangely flew under my radar until now. If the story itself wasn't so convoluted it would score higher so check reality at the door and grab your ninja crucifix throwing stars and you will enjoy the bloody romp through this interesting world.

I don't know why Priest got so many bad reviews when it is such a great movie. The movie is so underrated and unappreciated, it's ridiculous! People that are giving this movie bad reviews either don't like vampire movies ,or they aren't open to new ideas. Priest isn't mean't to be anything like Twilight, and it also isn't mean't to be anything sexy or about Dracula. Priest has a unique story and has amazing actors and actresses as the lead characters. The movie had a lot of potential and a great desire to be incomparable to all the other vampire films out there. The acting, story, and dialog of this film is incredible, and people should definitely give this movie more credit for that. It isn't the typical vampire movie. Another thing that I should add is the fact that this movie doesn't take two hours or more to get to the point, so that's a bonus. There are several movies out there that are known for taking a long time for the story to build up, but this movie isn't one of them. It takes just the right amount of time to get to the point. I like that the vampires in the film isn't like the ideal and typical vampires we see in most films. They're more monstrous and savage like creatures that definitely creates a whole new impression of vampires. This film is very unique and entertaining, and it deserves much more credibility. I love the film, and I hope they make a sequel.
