Lie with Me is the story of a Leila (Lauren Smith), a woman on a quest for pleasure, who has found sex to be the main road to get there. The film begins with her masturbating to porno, and much of the rest of the 90 minutes are very well-made and realistic scenes of masturbation and sex, which apart from showing two young hot bodies, is also an excellent portrayal of desire and longing. It's easy to identify with Leila, haven't we all been captivated by someone at some point?... She is obsessed with David (Eric Balfour), a man with whom she feels a special chemistry. Could it be love? Well, it's certainly lots of hot sex and fantasies of having David watch her have sex with other men...Lie-la and David's total lack of ability to communicate outside the bed or even about their fantasies leads these two alienated youths to come to the impossible conclusion of mutual unrequited love for an damaged soul who doesn't or can't love them back. This psychological struggle is truly interesting, and the cruelty and stupidity that result of this feeling of injustice define the rest of the film. The film-maker does a terrible job of resolving this tension, or hinting at how this misunderstanding might be overcome. Maybe one can read Tamara Berger's book to figure it out.In conclusion, Lie with Me is a great film to watch in bed with a lover. It has excellent acting and sexy bodies. Interesting psychologically, this film surpasses soft-core porn, it is a study of the modern dilemma of alienation around promiscuity and love in cities and club scenes. But little depth or dialogue accompanies the ending, and many will regret watching it to the end. Hopefully before then, you've gotten more interested in that warm body lying with you, or at the very least with yourself.

I just watched this movie and automatically the first thing that popped into my head was .Lifetime special ,this was horrible even from a lifetime perspective .The main actress isn't interesting her male co star isn't interesting either .At times i wonder what why he was even there. For anyone who sits there's and says this is about love and relationships .You need to get your head checked this is about sex plain and simple . i kind of got the feeling of this being a lazy effort to resemble last tango .Fail big time at least tango had actual talented actors .I guess in a way this movie suits the talent or lack there of.Nothing artistic at all about this the director needs a serious reality check.When are people like this going to be banned from trying to pass pornographic films off art ? its insulting

I have no problem with sex in film; on the contrary, I applaud any filmmaker who tries to approach the subject seriously and make interesting observations about it, and to make a serious film about sex without showing it makes about as much sense as making a war film without showing people being killed (which, as well all know, is much more acceptable for censors, for some reason).The problem with Lie With Me is that it does none of the above. It clearly tries very hard to be about something deeper than just soft-core porn. The sex scenes are often as disturbing as they are sexy, and the clumsy, embarrassingly bad narration seems to make this a movie about sex addiction and emotional detachment but we get none of that on-screen; mostly it's because of the very shallow one-dimensional characters, who have no characterization, no clear motives behind their actions and no chemistry whatsoever (I don't blame Lauren Lee Smith and Eric Balfour, both good actors, but the superficial script) and they get no sympathy whatsoever from the viewer; compared to other movies with similar intentions Lie With Me simply doesn't make the grade - the Australian Better Than Sex survives thanks to witty dialog, 9 Songs thanks to real on-screen chemistry between the two leads (both are very flawed movies by their own right, mind you - but they're both more watchable). In comparison Lie With Me feels pretentious and over-dramatic and you get the distinct feeling that without the nudity you'd be left with literally nothing. It gets some pity points for good cinematography and good actors who were brave enough to expose themselves like this, but I don't recommend it in any way.

Why this movie?? Seriously, what was there in the makers' minds while they were making this?? Is this intended to be a porn movie? If yes, then why did they conduct the screenings for this in several film festivals? If no, then what the heck is all those explicit scenes of the movie about?? They tried drawing a line between love and lust, but ends up nowhere!! The movie is full of explicit stuff, lot of nudity, sex etc etc But if they give some good message at the end, it would have been a good venture. But now, after watching the movie, I regret of watching complete porn stuff, which I doesn't like to watch at all.. The director, please do not make such movies again… The only beautiful part of the movie was two long runs, they were shot beautifully. Nothing else, absolute CRAP!!
