Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort

A sudden and mysterious inheritance brings Danny and his friends to Hobb Springs, a forgotten resort deep in the West Virginia hills. Hobb Springs is being looked after under the watchful care of Jackson and Sally, a socially awkward couple who introduce Danny to the long lost family he's never known. A clan by the name of Hillicker. But soon Danny learns his relatives have a different way of living, that for generations, the Hillickers have observed ancient traditions rooted in cannibalism and other taboo rituals.

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

I know I am a little late in submitting my comments to this latest (to date) entry in the WRONG TURN series, though considering how bad the previous entry was, you might understand my reluctance to continue with this series. But today I finally did, and my pre- viewing feelings that I was not missing anything proved to be correct. There are many things that go wrong with this entry, and most of them have to do with the sorry script. For starters, there are a whole bunch of unanswered questions, ranging from why the lead protagonist had been put up for adoption to why his family members needed him for their big plan in the first place when they had each other to work with. The story is also poorly paced - as others here have noted, you have to wait until the last fifteen or so minutes before most of the protagonists find themselves in deep poop. (There is a LOT of padding in this movie.) The protagonists, incidentally, are all obnoxious and unlikable to a large degree. As for the bad guys, for some reason the screenplay has Three Finger and his two partners in murder moved to become secondary characters. So you may be wondering why I somehow found this entry better than the sorry part 5. Well, there are a few good touches to be found in this mess if you're patient. For starters, the movie looks a lot better than the cheap and cheesy previous entry - it looks more expensive, with some decent locations and sets. The movie also has a good dash of gratuitous sex and nudity. And there are some nice gory bits, most of it thankfully accomplished with old school special effects instead of unconvincing CGI effects. All this makes the movie a little more bearable than part 5... though I feel I should make clear that the movie overall still isn't very good. If 20th Century Fox does get around to making a part 7, I'm going to skip it unless I hear a LOT of good reports about it.

Danny, a young man who grew up as an orphan, discovers he has relatives who own a hotel in the middle of nowhere. He doesn't expect much, but when he arrives there, it turns out to be a rather huge (quote) 'palace'. He immediately makes plans for renovation and reopening. However, the friends who accompany him make disturbing discoveries about his family...This is probably the least favorite sequel of the horror fans, because it takes 73 minutes until the chase really begins. To distract the audience from lack of action, the producers put in more nudity than the previous 5 episodes altogether. Somehow the pieces don't make a good picture, for example the 3 freaks disguising as monks for a ritual are a 1960s European Gothic movie element that doesn't fit into a modern American splatter series, even if shot in Bulgaria.Yet the movie has a couple of strong points, too. An amazingly edited scene is when the hero is invited to hunt with bow and arrow. This temptation of violence is cut in between the other family members chasing the sheriff while the voice over comment is very ambivalent. Another case of parallelism is when the hero is introduced to the bizarre family members. Instead of kissing his girlfriend, he finds himself in the arms (or rather, legs) of his cousin, floating from his past into the future intended for him without even noticing. In no previous episode, anyone was attracted to join the family, that was a good idea in the script to start with. However, some silly stuff and poor acting do a certain damage to the overall impression. I voted 8/4/6/7/5/4 for the 6 movies.

Let's get this out of the way I really enjoy this franchise I have since I saw the first movie and now own them all on Bluray except (thankfully) not this one. However that being said there is absolutely nothing redeemable whatsoever with this entry into the franchise .The storyline is all over the place and has no general direction ,the acting is absolutely horrible ,and none of the characters are interesting much less likable .The BAD GUYS are also laughable and Pathetic, the inbreds looked really cheap looking in this entry, and even the deaths were more hilarious then gruesome like some others were in this movie franchise. The ending of this film was also nonsensical and literally just cuts off before you even know what the hell is even going on .Which makes perfect sense since no part of this film made sense and the horribly bad acting only made that much more obvious. This movie was also B O R I N G with a capital B all it was was talk talk talk kill kill kill over and over again through the entire film.I managed to get to the halfway point of this film and fast forwarded it in the hopes that it would get better but nope it only got worse and more nonsensical and boring.Essentially this movie was an embarrassment and a disaster all rolled into one so glad I watched it instead of bought it .Don't rent and don't buy stay clear of this entry it's not worth the time nor the money period.

I found a fascination in watching the early Wrong Turn movies. The premise of the first film was a group of tourists who take the wrong turn and end up fighting for their lives against disfigured cannibals. One of the early films in the series revealed that the people resorted to cannibalism after there was no game to hunt and kill. The birth defects were the result of some kind of company went out of business. I believe it was a chemical company that poisoned the environment. The early films tried to explain the disfigured family of cannibals. In this film which makes no sense especially the final scene. Like the resort is suddenly restored and there are guests all of a sudden. I thought the resort was abandoned. Then Danny doesn't seen bothered by the cannibalism and Sally. The final act in the spa and the cannibals watching them have sex was troubling. Danny wants to get Sally pregnant. The scene was creepy and bizarre. The film made no sense whatsoever.
