Touches You
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
Nothing spectacular. It is what it is. Kinda reminds me of the SAW series.
Eight strangers awaken with no memory and find themselves in a puzzling cube shaped room where the laws of physics do not always apply. This sequel is directed by Andrzej Sekuła, more often known as a cinematographer; films shot by him include "American Psycho", "Hackers", "Vacancy", and "Armored". That list of credits might make you suspect this is going to be a great film, but you probably would be wrong. Some of what happens in this film is interesting. The general premise is not all that changed from the original. However, it gets a bit more abstract and I am not sure if the science really adds up. Making matters worse, the computer effects are pretty sloppy. They just look bad, plain and simple.
This film is an appalling load of hogwash. and not the kind that makes you laugh, chortling at how bad the film actually is, it's the kind that just leaves a pit in your stomach and makes you re-evaluate those hours you'll never get back watching the cube 2: hyper cube. There are a few main pointers I'd like to point out that really make this film stink.Budget is floppy, and it shows. the CGI is lousy. - I understand that the actors received praise for tension and attention to lines, but it really doesn't show - acting is meh at best. - The biggest no-no for me was the EXACT SAME PLOT as the previous film - there's little to no difference and it follows a boring horror plot line that is almost always repeated in horror films - someone dies as the introduction, group of people, one goes mad and kills the others, one escapes and dies, fin. I'm not making this up, this can be seen in some of the paranormal activity titles, grave encounters one and two, Chernobyl Diaries and more that I can't be bothered to name. - It's a sad sad failure. I know this just seems blind, but hold with me - there are bad films that are good.. and then there are films that are trying so hard but miss the mark and just leave you feeling disappointed (Hint hint, which one does this film fall into?)Overall this film is a waste of your time and energy unless you have never seen a low-budget gore/horror film before. The editing is lousy as are the effects, the CGI is laughable and it just doesn't hit the high bar of modern film-making.
SPOILER WARNING: Plot was a little weak, because there were some body language clues from Kate in the very beginning that suggested she was not like the others.. also the plot revolved about the history and real life of everyone but Kate. Throughout the movie we knew something was off about Kate.I was a little disappointed in this plot since none of the characters really came up with a sound plan to "figure out" the cube. It was too much flying by the seat of their pants...Did not have the same methodological calculating attempts by the characters as portrayed in the first movie The Cube..However, was still a little entertaining to see what surprise each room held.
