Jenny's Wedding
Jenny Farrell is getting married. But how will her straight-laced family react when they find out that the woman they thought was their daughter’s roommate is actually her fiancée? As the old-fashioned Farrells attempt to come to terms with the prospect of a surprise daughter-in-law, they face a difficult choice: either adapt with the times or risk being left behind.

Terrible acting, screenplay and direction.
One of my all time favorites.
Good story, Not enough for a whole film
While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
Watched it. Hated it. Had to reset my password from years of inactivity just to write this Premise to the film was solid. Katherine Heigl is hit and miss with me, and this movie was a big miss. Alexis Bledel always great and was no exception in this film. I was fully aware I was watching a movie the entire time I stayed awake. I found that Katherine and Alexis were mismatched for these roles. I wouldn't waste your time in watching this film.
Jenny's Wedding is an utter, tone-deaf disappointment. Tragically behind the times and generally flimsy. The theme may have been more appropriate 15-20 years ago. But now? It's beyond tired. "Mom, they were kissing! In public! Can you believe it?" You must be kidding. It's SO CLEAR that this movie was not made by any queer women, and none of it is believable. The supposed lesbians have zero chemistry...they have long talon fingernails for crying out loud! I wouldn't even recommend this movie to parents struggling with their daughter's sexuality because the characters are all so unlikable and pitiful. IF you are a queer person hoping this movie will offer a decent representation, don't waste your time.
Apparently Katherine Heigl has attracted a bunch of people who don't like her for whatever reason and therefore don't like any movie she's in. I have always found her an appealing screen presence. This movie is about a lesbian coming out to her family and how they all react and come to terms with it. Jenny's family is portrayed as both very conventional and very oblivious. A bit hard for me to believe that with the exception of her brother, the thought that Jenny is lesbian never crossed any of their minds. This is not academy award material, but it is a good movie with a very good cast. The movie is, to use an overused phrase. "fair and balanced", showing the point of view of everyone in the family with none of them being either a villain or a saint.I would definitely recommend this movie.
The movie is good, well written and really accurate compared to what happen in real life from my experience of parents finding out one of their kids is gay (the "please keep lying", the "what did we do wrong??", ...). So for me the movie has a huge potential and all of it is erased by the choice of actresses to be the gay couple : Heigl and Bledel. These two actresses are good but I didn't believe for once second in their couple. Heigl is a mature looking woman and Bledel looks...way younger! Both are beautiful and talented but as the couple....I didn't buy it and it bothered me during all the movie so at the end I'm disappointed and sad to feel that way.
