It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
The movie really just wants to entertain people.
If you've seen the original Cabin Fever from 2002 then there's really no reason to see this one because it's the same movie. Different actors but with just a few minor changes from the original it's literally shot for shot, line for line the same exact movie. There was no reason for this movie to be made. The original is no classic nor was there an audience clamoring for an updated version. It's only 14 years later. Had they changed the story in some way like the recent remake of the Evil Dead it might have at least been able to say that it was it's own story but no. This is exactly the same. Well actually not quite because compared to this one, the original is better and that's not something I'd ever thought I'd say about the 2002 version. The actors in this are bland and honestly don't act like normal people. In one scene one of the guys brings out an assault rifle, mirroring the BB gun scene in the original movie. But this time it goes off accidentally, almost hitting one of his friends. The reaction? An almost bored, "keep that thing away from me" instead of the adrenaline pumping scene that this would have been in reality. All in all, there is no reason to see this unless you just really need to see a bloodier version of the original.
I hated this movie so much that it's actually the worst thing I've ever seen! The acting is generic, the script is the same as the original but terribly converted to modern time (same problem with A Nightmare on Elm Street remake), and terrible everything! Can I give it a 0 please? I'm a fan of the first Cabin Fever, it may not be a masterpiece but I enjoyed it. I thought remakes are suppose to update or change something not similar to the original. This is a pointless remake by the number! Watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, The Ring remake, Friday The 13th remake, and The Hills Have Eyes remakes because just don't watch this movie.
Disappointed with the movie .Waited for almost 45 minutes forthe movie to actually progress,., The good thing here , is if you are a gore fan , you can see some of that in this movie but still fails to redeem the entire movie.
I will be the first to admit that when it comes to movies, my tastes are strange, to say the least. But I really did enjoy this film (I even came back for seconds) and I think it's...entertaining. That's the only adjective I can think of at the moment so it'll just have to do. I have not seen the original (nor do I plan to), so I have nothing to compare this to, but in my eyes this flick was everything it was supposed to be. It wasn't that scary, but it was certainly gory, and that definitely counts for something, it was creepy, it was just cool. I say give it a shot - you won't regret it. (I already know you're going to watch it - it's got Matt Daddario, c'mon.)
