Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded

An underworld don who operates internationally, Sagar Alias Jacky had to deal with the likes of Naina (Suman) and Goa based Rozario brothers who want to do away with Sagar. But each time Sagar with his fearlessness and brilliance in plotting, outplays them. It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

I agree that it has lot of style and is lot of style from beginning to end, But it is a great movie where Mohanlal showed his skills very well and has no reason to be rated less!! I have watched it more than 40 times and still love to watch it when I feel like getting some courage and power. The confidence in the dialogue's and cinematography are excellent features of this movie. Even after watching the movie several times, every single time i get goosebumps when I watch the confidence of the Character Sagar Alias Jacky. The scenes where Mohanlal lets know Shobana that her child need not worry about any revenge when he grows up and such scenes where he speaks with the style of a Don or Leader is really mind blowing.

SAJ is a very stylized movie. Even though the story is not that good. Watch the movie if you are a great Mohanlal fan...Its worth to see his actions. The combination of Mohanlal with Bhavana doesn't seem to match. If you don't have anything else to do, this movie is worth while to watch. It looked like the film uses an English movies background score. Jyothirmayi in an item number with a small skirt on was just sad. It's not good to see a talented actress like her do item numbers like this. Some of the scenes remind people of the English movie 'bourne ultimatum'. Mohanlal didn't show a lot of expression in this film, which doesn't impress a lot of people. Its very rare to see him without a lot of expression, maybe its because of the character. The film doesn't justify to original movie 'Irupatham Noottandu'. Even though, they been saying its not the second part of that movie and they only took the character's name from the movie. Overall, The movie doesn't have an originality, but like i said if you are a great Mohanlal fan go ahead and watch it.

Watch this movie if you love movies that are 'so bad' it's good. All this movie has is Mohanlal walking accompanied to a background score. He walks and talks. Walks and talks some more. And some more. And a little more. And then the film ends. And he talks some more. The production design is good. So are the costumes. Two redeeming points in this otherwise sorry effort. The sun flare shots are overdone.Frankly, it's Mohanlal who saves the day. The only scene that works and blows life into a dead audience, is the scene set to the old background score composed by Shyam. Where Mohanlal introduces himself as Sagar Alias Jacky. The only thing dumber than the movie is the dumb audience. Mistaking visual trickery for style. That too quite ordinary visuals lacking heart, soul or cinematic vision. The staging is static and lacks dynamism. For style - go watch Chunking Express or Kill Bill or even No Country for Old Men OR go watch Ayan (tamil) or Aamir, Ghajini or Johnny Gaddar or A Wednesday. Yo, Amal Neerad, looks like all you know is putting on some style. But style isn't enough to make a good movie. Go back to making ads.

'Sagar Alias jackie'is the sequel to the yesteryear hit movie 'Irupataam Noottaandu'.It was hyped as the most stylish Indian movie before its release..But unfortunately it remains all style and no substance.'Jackie' the smuggler played by Mohanlal(one of the most flexible actors in India) is simply superb. But Amal neerad couldn't compile a strong story to this all style package. From the start of the movie mohanlal appears in stylish costumes and gets in & out of luxury cars, shakes hands with other people with heart stopping background music.'Indu' played by Shobhana add some 'family' element to the movie.Bhavana plays a reporter with ease.Jyothirmayi's item number adds glamour.Suman has played the villain role with power.but he wasn't given more time in this movie..All other co-stars including Jagathy,Manoj.k.jay an etc add flavour to this movie. The movie puts a sudden break at the climax..which irritates the viewers.Gopi sunder, the music director gives promise with above average songs.Overall 'Sagar Alias jackie Reloaded' is watchable..at least for its style statement & thumping background score. Its not going to be a super hit,but it will for sure revolutionize Malayalam cinema...
