While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
I'll never forget the day that I walked into a video store and saw this.I didn't even know it existed and soon found myself explaining who Ronnie Dobbs was to someone who just did not care. Ronnie was a character that appeared in 2 sketches on Mr.Show. Mr. What? Exactly. He is a drunk redneck that is always getting arrested. This movie expands on the character and it's truly hilarious.A TV producer gives Ronnie a show and he goes around the country getting arrested everywhere.Ronnie never runs out of funny things to say or do, I feel like I could watch him every day. David Cross,Bob Odenkirk and Nikki Cox have never disappointed me and this movie is no exception. This is a must see.
I never watched the show and I am from the south - so yes, I can relate to a lot of the stuff they are making fun of.This is one of my favorite comedy movies ever. From the start to finish everything ties in perfectly together. To me it's more like Airplane in style (a goofy plot with tons of hilarious filler). If you like Indi films, or at least "not so mainstream" films that you have to use your mind a little to catch everything then you will like this film.I only rent films but have ended up renting this one 4 times now to show different friends. Might not be the best sober movie, but a few drinks or so will have you ready for the adventure.
This movie will never leave you sad. It works on so many levels that you can watch it in mixed company. You know, a room full of manual laboring joe-6-packs, with some bankers and lawyers or a bunch of barflies and some hard working family types. Most likely different groups will laugh at different parts while the non-laughing groups will wonder what they are missing and even that would be amusing. Pretty soon, everyone is laughing.I'm a little bit of all of the above so I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The parody aspects were sadly, hilarious, the dialog was genius-stupid, the subplots were predictably quirky and nothing unexpected should surprise you. If you follow the obvious it is briefly funny because it's shallow, if you go deeper there is even more to laugh at.If you liked Very Bad Things, Envy, The Jerk, The Stupids, etc. You'll enjoy Run Ronnie Run. -Jahfre
Something strange is happen here, because the lead actors are not famous, but there are so many stars from Hollywood, some of them just appear even only for 5 seconds. Please just check the credits and you will notice.I guess there is a famous director or producer behind, but I cannot recognize it.Some part of this movie is just stupid enough and some of it is hilarious. Actually, it is not such a good movie, but I have a great time, so in an entertainment world, I think this movie keep this promise.Stidy in 30-Dec-04 Buenos Aires, Cap. Fed. Argentina
