Boring
best movie i've ever seen.
Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Sarah (Katie Maguire) babysits for two kids on Halloween. One gets an unmarked VHS tape in his bag. She watches the tape which contain three episodes with a common theme of a clown and women being abducted/killed. Anybody who has seen a film of someone watching an unlabeled VHS tape knows what happens next. This is a "me too" yawner. I liked Kate Maguire as the babysitter, but the film needed to be something besides predictable film shorts. Okay as a rental.Parental Guide: F-bomb. Implied off screen rape. Mutilated FX nudity.
Huh. This is a bit of a shame. Because this movie could have been a lot better, had it not been for the horrible middle movie. This is three short movies, tied together by a background movie, and they are slightly mixed together. The background movie is OK, actually.. and the first short is not bad. But the second one is awful. I mean, jeez, pretty much everything about it sucks. The costumes being the very worst thing about it. It looks like you sent a kid to a junk yard, with 2 minutes to put together a costume with what he/she could find there. It looks totally ridiculous, and not the least tiny bit scary. It also relied way to heavily on crying, begging and screaming which I HATE. Such a cheap, tiresome, dumb way to try to make something scary. The third movie.. uhm, well, it's not that bad. Shoddy acting drags it down some. But it had some awesome gore.Art the clown is the only really good thing in this, he looks awesome. Really scary and creepy.I really just wrote this review to tell you how sucky the second/middle movie is. It's almost worth checking out for the stupid looking costume.
I put this on expecting a low budget laugh. I actually said to my husband "I fancy something not too serious". Well I laughed a little and although its not 'too serious' its certainly not light-hearted.It starts like a typical horror film. Cue an annoying young boy and some shocking acting from the fist video clip. You find yourself sucked in but not sure why. The second video clip (which generally has been received badly) is entertaining but when the third video clip starts..sh*t gets real. Its terrifying. The clown is horrific. The final ending is unexpected. This film left me scared to walk around the house for the rest of the night. It left me feeling incredibly uneasy. But your left wanting more.It has its flaws and has lots of frustrating victim moments where your screaming at the screen for them to do the sensible thing. All Hallows Eve is a must see for fans of horror. Just go for clown if anything.
I can see that a lot of people chose to review this film. I'm doing it for two reasons:1. Although a little cheesy, it did make my top ten. 2. Halloween is coming, and this is a great movie to watch with a groupof friends. I watched, "Something About Mary with a group offriends, and I never laughed so much. This movie isn't funny, but itwill be just a much fun with a bunch of friends and (maybe)...refreshments(?) I watched this movie because it was recommended as sort of a prank. My nephew knows I don't like clowns. I watched it, and found that it was actually pretty creepy. It's low-budget and all that goes with it, but it kind of had me going. And, that is not an easy thing to do. They made a second All Hallows Eve, but it just didn't measure up.This movie made my top ten because there just aren't that many scary movies out there, and it was actually kind of original. So, low-budget or not, I applaud the outcome. Somebody on the set of this film had an idea, and they managed to work it out without spending a whole lot of money. Points for the whole "more for less" theme.Seriously, watch it this Halloween with your friends, especially if you haven't seen it. You'll have a blast.
