Thanks for the memories!
How sad is this?
Good start, but then it gets ruined
The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
It looked and sounded bad. Painfully unimaginative. The only bit I enjoyed was the montage of them getting drunk after getting stoned. This gives stoner films a bad name. They could have done something great with it by taking it way over-the-top but they didn't, they made it dull.
This is a zombie comedy movie but it was gore enough with blood splattered frequently, and not so bad special effects. The problem was in some scenes had long dialogues, and it make the film becoming lack of interest. But thumbs up for the movie idea, and zombie movie fans gotta see this film.
This movie has a happy slapstick feel to it, Cheech and Chong meet the undead. It was funny, it was heartwarming (sometimes a little too much)-- and it had an awesome ending that included perhaps one of the most awesome killing machines in recent zombie-killing history. The two stoner leads (Edwin and Tommy) were perfect boneheads-- but boneheads with a mission. There is also one of the hottest chicks since Tomb Raider (wait 'til she gets all gussied up in leathers)... and it is pure and simple entertainment.I understand the film was produced for $5000, and that in itself is reason enough to watch it-- but don't watch it for that! Watch it because its funny and clever and the zombie effects are first rate (by veteran Mike Fields). The final climactic scene is awesome... oh, and watch past the trailers for a taste of things to come.
First of all id like to say a big thank you to the the weird guy with big earrings and a stupid multicoloured haircut at the local videoezy. He recommended this movie to me while i was there last night and i feel he needs some credit. As soon as i got home i got my massive mission impossible 2 combo cup and filled it to the brim with a little thing i like to poetry juice which is basically mango nectar and pineapple rind with a hint of Labradoodle DNA and an imported industrial sized box of pop corn of which i picked up on my way home from a roadside vendor named Deshawn Landry if you would like to get in contact with him his number is 1800 get-popped, then took the DVD out of the cheap plastic case that the store gave to me and handled it with extreme care because i knew already that it would be great just by judging the disc print. when in the VCR the DVD didn't actually work so i decided to change it and put it in my DVD player but then it didn't register so i worked out that i had to turn the DVD player on first.i have a formula for a great film and here it is budget x number of cast members + the amount of letters the director has in his last name / the average rating on the sydney morning herald newspaper x the shoe size of the sound editors left foot = the perfect movie. and safe to say that bong of the dead equates out. but correct me if I'm wrong.the opening scene set it all for me and the brilliant acting by the old couple was something to behold, the character introduction wasn't needed as Edwin and tommy were perfectly in sync with each other and the set explained it all for me. the story line is better than what i expect from a zombie movie and to tell you the truth it could stand up to any blockbuster like happy feet 2 or the Muppet's go to Manhattan. i was always wondering who or what was coming next and was biting my nails the whole way through (partly because i had long nails and i had forgotten where i put my nail clipper) but the character of Alex i found to be the best because no one was guessing that zombies had different sexual tendencies particularly because they lack any form of genitalia whatsoever. but they must.Leah is very well played she comes across as cold and dark at first but with a bit light drinking and a large amount of illegal plant substances. she lightens up a bit and becomes one of the center points of the whole movie. the director has done extremely well with only the small budget he had to work with although the special effects were A class and i don't know how he actually did it.towards the end it never got old and i found that the movie could have gone on for another hour and it still would have been entertaining. i loved the ending and anything with a ford f250 truck and multiple lawn mowers its going to be a good one. unless its a lawnmowing service then it may not be as entertaining as id hoped.i plead you if you are at the video store and see this on the shelf rent it and watch it i think it will be the best hour and thirty minutes of the week for you providing you don't fall asleep first and don't intake any red bull(all rights reserved red bull and its logo are property of the Pepsi Company and is used accordingly) its an example of film making at its finest.P.S the catering staff need a big thank you because without them the cast and crew wouldn't get the necessary nutrition they needed for the acrobatic stunts and intense dialog.
