Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

And that is quite an achievement as "Kleines Arschloch" is a definite contender for worst animated movie from the 1990s. In the first movie, there was already a reference about the lead character being Satan and here we see that costume for almost half of the film. Anyway, I wonder why they decided to make a sequel after almost 10 years had already passed. And I wonder even more why Helge Schneider, who is actually pretty smart and funny, agreed to reappear as well in this catastrophic effort. His quotes included word plays with stalactites and tits. Another one would be something along the lines of a cabinet of Dr. Dildo. Oh Helge, what were you thinking??? Just like in the first the characters' noses are again as big as their head. You can see this as an indication of how the directors also worked together on the (much more entertaining) Werner movie franchise. The film starts with a sequence including seagulls and a very random conversation with the only purpose to include this film's title it seems. It is abused again on the comics from Walter Moers (Käptn Blaubär). It is at least as bloody, offensive and uninspired as the first. Once again they forgot to include humor and it seemed they really only went for dialogs and action that would shock the audience as much as possible. I cannot see any creative approach in here. There is lots of violence against animals (lots of very cruel animal experiments involving a tiny dog) just like in the first. The main character, a little boy, is spoken again by the same actress as in the original with her trademark annoying voice.Some names you will have heard of if you are German. The voice cast includes the late Dirk Bach, Ralph Morgenstern and Kathrin Ackermann who played for a long time in the "Tatort"-movies. This here is certainly a film you can only love or hate although it is difficult to see how one could love it with all its impiousness, the tasteless scenes at a funeral/cemetery and attempts at humor that include photos from the main character's first ejaculation or about God having no pubic hair. Early on, the family wanted to push the boy out of a driving car and I really wished they had done it, so the story would have been over and I would not have had to sit through another hour of this crap. Sadly, the very few non-vulgar sequences were as unfunny as the rest of the film. These 80 minutes included many wtf-moments, but almost none of them in a positive context.To be offensive and totally unfunny is probably the worst possible mixture for a comedy movie, or a movie in general, but this one succeeds this rare achievement. Absolutely not recommended. The only reason you should this give this one a go is if you liked the first.

I was rooting for this film, mainly because there aren't so many good cartoons produced in Germany and, being a fan of Walter Moers, I found „Das Kleine Arschloch", one of the better transitions from comic to cartoon. The first film was witty, the humour pitch-black, always bordering on bad taste and yet adapted the spirit of the comic one-to-one.It's hard to believe that the sequel was produced by the same people, the only giveaway being that the animation and the voices are still the same. But the humour, the humour is gone entirely. Instead, utter boredom sets in as soon as the wild ducks enter the screen. I have to admit, it happens rarely, but I fell asleep while watching (and swear that I was sober like a judge). It wasn't a deep sleep; had there been laughter in the cinema, it would have woke me up. But there was no laughter and when the show was over and the man sitting next to me tried to wake me, he assured me that I had "done the right thing".What pains just as much as the lack of laughter is the soundtrack: the first part had a mix of covers ("School's Out", "Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht") and originals ("Sündigen"), all superbly sung by Kathrin Ackermann, who also voices the "Little Bastard". There is none of this in "The Little Bastard and the Old Fart". Rather, the soundtrack is supplied by avant-garde comedian Helge Schneider (who also voices the "Old Fart"). There are two types of people: those who like Schneider and those who don't, because they don't understand his humour or music. I admit, I belong to the second category. I don't like his pseudo-experimental Jazz and it constantly playing in the back of the scenes, reminded me of a pesky mosquito, persistently humming in my ear. The only song, Scheider was 'allowed' to perform on the first part, was the outro-song, and if you've heard it, you'll know that this was a good choice.Although I just invented the word, I would call myself a "completist": yes, if I liked the original, I will watch the sequel and the sequel's sequel; despite better judgement, knowing that the sequel will s**k. Hey, only once you've seen it all, can you judge about it. But this is one of the rare cases, where I recommend fans of both the comic and the first movie: don't watch it. Watch something else. Anything.1 point out of 10 and the "Uwe Boll Seal of Approval".

Some critics already warned before this movie that it is really bad and sadly this is true. If you have seen the first movie, don't watch this sequel, if you haven't seen the first don't watch the second, either.To make it short: Most of the scenes are not funny, there is not much to laugh about in it. Even more, the movie is not entertaining at all, it is just boring. The dialogues (or more often monologues) are boring, the dancing scene is even more boring (and much too long), the duck "side-plot" is boring and i cannot remember how often i looked at my watch. Oh, and the Helge Schneider's music is annoying at best if you don't like his kind of jazz. The songs in the first movie were good and funny but here the background music is just bad and misplaced and the songs simply crap. The only thing they did well are the drawings. They look as good as in the first one, if you like the style.The movie is a waste of time, money and good mood, even if you have not expected too much in advance. But now, i think, i am ready to see an Uwe Boll movie.
