Great Film overall
I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Lives up to the name of a political satire. Had read some unfavourable reviews earlier, but when I got to watch, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Though few comedy tracks may have appeared cheap, Mohanlal and his sidekicks (Aju Varghese and Baburaj) score in making the heart light after a hectic work day. This movie is dedicated to making fun of Indian politics and their clichéd ways to woo the public. The highlight is how all this is applied to campaign an election in U.S. His outrageous techniques leave us in splits, especially when the American candidate and campaign officer dance to the tunes of an Indian- return campaign consultant. The romance track with Ragini was quite bearable as Mohanlal doesn't overstep his bounds of playing the romance-stricken hero. Aju's and Baburaj's gimmicks, particularly when Baburaj addresses the air hostesses as 'chechi' and Aju's M.I style suspended retrieval of an important CD were hilarious. These episodes give us laughable memories even after the movie is over. You excuse the redundant corny dialogues, as it is an outright comedy. Mohanlal never fails to impress me whichever kind of role he plays, and he does the same here, entertaining all the way. If you are looking for logic and something to feed your intellect, you may want to stay away from this movie. If you don't mind cracking up for a couple of hours and a half, go for it!
i just saw this film made byArun Vaidyanathan before 1 week or something.and i was surprised after the climax of this film.to be honest,i think the director took my mind ^.^.actually i thought that he took me away whan i saw the film ;) i first thought that it was directed by a Hollywood director or what.then i felt a 'no' in my heart (this is made by a Mollywood film director directed it) cause Hollywood directors focus more on Technology and Mollywood films focus on nature (that is because English countries has ability to perform more technological products and and kerala is having a place which has a large amount of agriculture/nature and now i thank Arun Vaidyanathan for giving us a good time or funny time seeing this film :)
Well, you rate movies based on what it tries to be. You can't compare a wanna be Shawashank Redemption to a wanna be American Pie... Just because they're of two very different leagues. So, here's a movie that's not to be taken too seriously, and you'll enjoy it...Mohanlal's done many good movies in the past. This one's a bit different in it's presentation, but still is pure form of hero worship...Pros - 1. Lal's charismatic performance and mannerisms. 2. Comedy department - headed b Mukesh, Baburaj, Aju Varghese and Lalettan himself. 3. BGM - Gave a good feel and elevated the mood. 4. A few references to Lal's yesteryear hits/flicks. 5. Some dialogues where the "I" the protagonist refers to is the actor himself, more than the character. 6. The first half and interval punch. 7. Enough scope for claps and whistles throughout the movie.Cons - 1. The second half is not as enjoyable as the first and is a wee bit predictable. 2. The heroine's subplot starts to give a bad feeling initially (but is elevated by the fight that follows). 3. A few scenes in between may not be digestible to everyone. 4. There are one or two words uttered by Lal himself that should've been muted.Verdict - A perfect outing with friends, a paisa vasool entertainer, that lives up to the promos...
Well, for the movie 'Peruchazhi', I am choosing the lesser of the two evils and conclude saying, "It is a below-average no-brainer type movie with a fair bit of comedy in every nook and corner of the plot" thanks to Baburaj and Aju Vargheese. The movie starts out in an enticing fashion, throwing at us the golden dialogs from the classics of the great actor Mohanlal. But nevertheless, disappointingly, the movie continues to hide behind the shadow of the great man's great performances of the past - nothing to call as being creative or a revival of the man's splendid flair to deliver 'all time best' comedies. But Of course, you get a reason to laugh every now and then for sure, as the massive Baburaj, the villain turned comedian, pulls off some hilarious dialogs with Aju Vargeese in company. And for the ardent Mohanlal fans, there might be something in the movie as well, as he is seen rolling in full style all throughout the movie. He looks stylish and fresh to be honest. And don't worry. He hasn't really made fun out of himself, in an attempt to create fun. I don't want to reveal the easily guessable plot. But I can say this much: Any American would be irked watching this movie as it makes fun out of their ass. It is like America is a no-man's-land where you can do anything you want, wherever and whenever you want to. But I call that part fair for the exotic mockery 'Hollywood' has been making out us since quite a long time. Like in Anchorman, "Smells like Indian food in diapers" WHAT THE HELL! For those who have already made up their mind to go watch the film, I really don't want to spoil the mood and expectations. So I am wrapping it up. As I have said before, it is a total no-brainer with some cheap gimmicks used and good comedy. That's all. I won't be really calling them 'comical' if I had something else to talk about on the movie. So, guys, it comes to this: Watchable – but at own risk.
