Simply Perfect
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
"Galaxy Quest" is now one of those movies that's become a cult classic as it's a nice blend between comedy and sci-fi and it entertains with laughs and drama. And the cast had great chemistry as it's all star with Tim Allen, Alan Rickman, Sam Rockwell, and the sexy and beautiful Sigourney Weaver. As all are part of a space TV cast and all of a sudden the game gets real as they fight against real aliens it's a battle to defend earth. It's a fun game of laughs and trying to outsmart each other with wit. And sex appeal is provided with the Weaver character(as she sports a bust and can be seen wearing a sexy silk red or maroon colored bra.) Overall good film to watch for fun it doesn't take things to serious while entertaining and providing laughs and fun entertainment!
This is a somewhat entertaining parody movie with some good performances. Its pretty funny and entertaining and I'd recommend it. It is a bit stupid though, but enjoyable.
This is a remarkable, intelligent, and very funny film -- and you don't have to be a former Trekkie to enjoy it. And -- once having seen it -- you can be dropped into any scene a decade later -- any scene -- and it will be just as good as the first time you saw it. And it has a story to tell. Tim Allen is terrific -- but so is every member of the cast.
This movie should be in the canon of movie classics, at least in the sci-fi genre. So many great character actors with an interesting (if rather derivative plot -- but it's a spoof with a twist, so that should be expected). Tim Allen nails the main character and so many others, Alan Rickman as others have mentioned, and Sigourney Weaver in a comical tone, deliver fine performances. It's worth watching multiple times as you're bound to have missed something along the way. Ultimately, it's a feel-good sci-fi without cursing (at least in the expurgated current version) and hardly any gore and a minimum of violence. The visual effects don't look wildly dated either. A great movie!
