Admirable film.
A lot more amusing than I thought it would be.
The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
"Ocean Giants" is an insanely well filmed short series about whales. I honestly cannot imagine better camera work...and seeing it on a big screen TV is a must. The opening scene clearly demonstrates this, as an enormous whale tale is seen slowing descending into the water. So even if you ignore the show's content, the filmed footage is simply amazing...again and again. As for the content, it's also great...or mostly great. You learn about the lives of some types of whales, their social structures, signs of higher intelligence, their use of sonar and whale sounds and much more. You also get to see some bizarre but cool footage of Grey Whales surfacing for hugs from passing tourist boats! My only complaint, and it's a small one is that in episode two, the narration and folks being reviewed didn't sound all that scientific when they talked about how wonderful and brilliant the whales are. They are, but anthropomorphizing them like some did seemed much more emotional than factual or scientific.
