It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
My rating is based on the content of this movie which caters to "ITS AUDIENCE" perfectly. Movie goers who enjoy animation quality over the depth and sincerity of the story may find animation lacking to an extent though it is commendable to produce such eye soothing visuals with lesser than 2 percent of the budget as compared to a Hollywood flick. Animation is in nascent state in India hence this venture should be regarded as a bold yet sincere step and owing to the fact that this is based on actual history associated with the sentiments of a religious minority the pains taken to avoid any controversy is commendable as well. (Mild spoiler ahead) Due to important and wise restrictions on animating The Masters (The gurus) movie buffs complain about the gurus being depicted in still imagery but then again it is commendable that movie makers took care of that fact yet making the movie look beautiful.The movie made suitable for all audience does not show blood gore and does not give audience much to ponder upon the technicality of warfare making it interesting and understandable for younger generation. Though movie is taken to be associated with religion but It actually is based on the unbreakable human spirit and a tribute to probably the firsts to die for right to speech, expression and right to live with dignity and on own terms. The message is correct, motivating and true and beyond the boundaries of religion, race or country. A must for parents who like their children watching motivational cinema. Not to forget that this movie is true to events and movie watchers should not restrict themselves to this movie but should research on the history associated with characters of this story. Too much for world to learn from this part of the world.
I must appreciate the director and the screenwriter as they have played well through the thin line margin of it being an historical movie rather than a religious one.Movie starts with Chaar Sahibzaade living in harmony at city Anandpur. The Movie progresses through and the real altercation starts when Quila Anadgarh is attacked and cordoned off by the forces of Wazir Khan. Movie's climax is when the younger two brothers are martyred at city Sirhind. I must say it was strikingly emotional scene. And it being a real history event which happened around just 300 years back benumbed me. Chaar Sahibzaade also forces us to think on the lines that we have so many stories of bravery scattered all through our states. But they are never shared across. They don't even are part of our school curriculum. May be, that's the reason of our impeccable sense of nationality (sarcastic) - We don't know our Heroes! I more fine example is the 'Battle of Saragarhi' and I am sure there are many more.Chaar Sahibzaade is a 'Good Movie' and even if somebody doesn't relate to it, should see it once for sake of history.
Beautiful..this is the most powerful film on the subject of love.The Sikhs in Mughal India demonstrated valor, courage, sacrifice and against all odds- they stood up to the Mughal army who were enslaving non Muslims living in India.But this isn't about war..blood..revenge..hate..one religion vs. another. It is testament to the the glory of the Gurus teachings and how the king of kings- Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself, through the sacrifice of his own sons, demonstrated the unconditional love we should practice towards mankind.And I should note, please take tissues..as a man who has not cried in many years, let's just say it was a good thing I had 3D glasses on!Satnam.
