Serena often writes empowering and thought provoking stories featuring historically excluded leading characters, seeking unity and understanding in all areas of society. Serena studied acting with the "Cesar Chavez" of acting teachers, Enrique Duran, while performing with the Canoga Park Players. In addition, Serena studied with the Third City Improv troupe based in Los Angeles, as well as performed with the Joshua Tree Playhouse. Off-stage and screen Serena is an advocate for trans rights, offering sanctuary to those who need it most. She also counsels men and women leaving domestically challenged situations.
