Say what you want about the Prequels, this movie is great. It is not the best Star Wars movie but still great nevertheless. Storytelling:The storytelling in this movie is excellent. This movie is about Anakin's turn to the dark side and the creation of the Galactic Empire. This movie takes place three years after the events of Attack of the Clones. Anakin is now is now a powerful skilled Jedi Knight. He killed Count Dooku, rescued the chancellor, and scored a victory against the Separatists. After this battle, Anakin learned that Padme became pregnant. Anakin is excited about his future until he has a nightmare about Padme dying in childbirth. Feeling the guilt about the death of his mother, Anakin told Padme that this dream will not become real and he will do whatever it takes to stop it. Anakin meets with Yoda the following morning to discuss the dream. Yoda warns Anakin that the fear the loss is a path to the dark side of the force and that he must train himself to let go. Anakin misses the meeting as a result. Obi-Wan tells Anakin that the chancellor requests Anakin's presences but did not tell Jedi Council why. This made Obi-Wan uneasy. Anakin then meet with Palpatine. Palpatine said that he wanted Anakin to be placed on the Jedi Council as a personal representative. Anakin became excited, thinking that he was going to become a master. Anakin then meet with the Jedi Council. The Jedi Council allowed Anakin to be on the council, but did not grant him the rank of master. This made Anakin angry with the Jedi, creating a huge amount of distrust between him and Mace Windu. To increase Anakin's frustration with the Jedi Council, Obi-Wan informed Anakin that the Jedi Council asks him to spy on the chancellor. Anakin then met with Palpatine in the Opera House. Palpatine found out that the spy sent Anakin to spy on him. Anakin even admitted that he's frustrated with the Jedi Council and that he's beginning to distrust them. Palpatine then said hat the Jedi and the Sith are similar, especially the desire for greater power. Anakin denied this at the moment. Palpatine then told Anakin about the legend of Darth Plagueis the Wise. He revealed that Darth Plagueis knew how to stop people from dying. Because Anakin wants to prevent Padme from dying, he became interested in this dark side ability. Realizing that Anakin has been under a lot of stress, Obi-Wan visited Padme. Anakin figured this out through a vision. Padme figures out that Anakin's desire for the power to save Padme from death has put him under a lot of stress. Palpatine then summons Anakin to tell him the location of General Grievous. He's said that the Jedi Council would be foolish to not give Anakin this assignment. Palpatine knew that Anakin would not receive the assignment, and he was right. In the next Jedi Council meeting, the Jedi Council overwhelming voted that Obi-Wan should face General Grievous instead of Anakin. This made Anakin even more furious with the Jedi Council. Anakin then met with Palpatine to discussion his frustration. Palpatine eventually revealed that he was a Sith Lord. At first, Anakin wanted to kill him. Then, he realized that if he killed Palpatine, he would not learn of the ability to save Padme. Instead of killing Palpatine, he decides to turn him in over to the Jedi Council. He then tells Mace Windu that Palpatine is a Sith Lord, the one who was the master of Dooku and Darth Maul. Anakin decides to help Mace Windu. Because Mace Windu sensed Anakin's fear, he told Anakin to wait in the temple. Anakin stayed in the temple, hearing Palpatine's voice. Anakin stood conflicted. His decisions here controlled the fate of the galaxy. If Mace Windu killed Palpatine, Anakin would never learn of the ability to save Padme from death. If Anakin helped Palpatine, the Jedi Order will fall and the galaxy will be controlled by a tyrant. Then, Anakin stared at the window and thought of Padme. Anakin began to cry and decided to stop Mace Windu from killing Palpatine. When Anakin arrived, Palpatine was already on the ground defeated. Palpatine tried to defend himself with force lightning but failed completely. Both fighters tried to convince Anakin to their side. Anakin was conflicted until Mace Windu went from saying "You are under arrest, my Lord" to "I will end this once and for all", Anakin told Mace Windu not to kill Palpatine because it was against the Jedi code and that he needed him. When Mace Windu raised his lightsaber for the kill, Anakin defended Palpatine and cut off Mace Windu's hand. Unarmed, Palpatine launched force lighting at Mace Windu, and used the force to push Mace Windu off the cliff to his death. Realizing his horrible deed, Anakin decided to be completely loyal to Palpatine and turn to the dark side. This is the moment Anakin became Darth Vader. Palpatine ordered Darth Vader to execute the Jedi at the temple and then execute the Separatist leaders on Mustafar. Without second thought, Darth Vader obeyed. Darth Vader and the 501st legion invaded the Jedi Temple, killing thousands of Jedi. Darth Vader then killed the Separatist leaders as instructed. During this scene, Palpatine created the Galactic Empire because the Jedi tried to kill him, saying that the Jedi betrayed the Republic. Right after this scene, Obi-Wan found at that Anakin became Darth Vader when he viewed a security hologram. Yoda instructed Obi-Wan to find Darth Vader and kill him. Obi-Wan visited Padme and revealed that Anakin turned to the dark side. Padme didn't believe Obi-Wan. In doubt, Padme decided to prepare her ship and set course for Mustafar. Obi-Wan secretly went on Padme's ship. Anakin meet with Padme on Mustafar. Through conversation, she learned that Anakin has changed and that he turned to the dark side. When Anakin saw Obi-Wan on the ship, he force choked Padme. Obi-Wan told Anakin to let her go. Anakin did so and was furious to see Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan told Anakin that turning Padme against him was his fault and that he became the very thing he swore to destroy. Anakin replied that he saw the hypocrisy and lies with the Jedi, and that he did not fear the dark side. Eventually, Anakin and Obi-Wan fought. Concurrent with this scene, Yoda and Palpatine fought. Yoda lost the fight, having to deal with the pain of failure. Palpatine sensed that Darth Vader was in danger and he prepared his ship and set course for Mustafar. Darth Vader eventually lost the fight due to his own arrogance. Obi-Wan couldn't kill Anakin because he was like a brother to him, so he decided to let him burn in the fire instead, not knowing that Darth Vader would turn into an even bigger monster. Obi-Wan left with Padme and took her to Polis Massa. Palpatine eventually showed up on Mustafar and rescued Anakin. Padme's childbirth and Darth Vader's operation happened concurrently. After giving birth to Luke and Leia, Padme died, just like in the dream. She lost the will to live. After the operation, Darth Vader rose up in his suit. He asked where was Padme was and that if she was safe. Palpatine replied that Vader killed her in his death. Vader became angry and destroyed all the equipment in the room. The movie ended with Leia being sent to Bail Organa on Alderaan and Luke being sent to Uncle Owen on Tatooine during a binary sunset. Characters:This movie did an excellent job with characters. Anakin: Well-written character. His motivations were clear and made perfect sense. Padme: Well-written character. She was supportive and truly cared for Anakin and about democracy. She was one of the few good senators. She loved Anakin even after he turned to the dark side and choked her. She was the first to believe that there was good in Anakin.Obi-Wan: Well-written character. He cared about Anakin. He was one of the few good Jedi who obeyed the code.Yoda: Well-written character. Him facing Palpatine and dealing with his defeat was handled very well. He was one of the few good Jedi who obeyed the code.Mace Windu: Great character. He did not trust Anakin. He breaking the Jedi code resulted in not only his downfall but the downfall of the Jedi Order and the Republic. He represent the flaws, lies, and hypocrisy with the Jedi Order. He is a terrible Jedi. Count Dooku: Great side villain who taunted Anakin during the fight.General Grievous: Great side villain who had great lines and challenged Obi-Wan.Palpatine: Epic main villain. One of the best most villains ever written. Up there with Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Thanos, and Heath Ledger's Joker.Emotion: This movie is packed with emotional. This is one of the most emotional Star Wars movies. The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi can compete though. Here are the emotional scenes:Anakin landing the Invisible HandAnakin's first meeting with PadmeAnakin confessing his nightmare to PadmeAnakin staring through the window Order 66 SceneAnakin and Padme Scene before his leaves Mustafar"Anakin, you're breaking my heart" sceneAnakin's immolationPadme giving childbirth and her deathDarth Vader finds out about Padme's deathPadme's funeralBinary SunsetActing/Dialogue:The acting and dialogue was good for the most part. A little bit of the dialogue and acting can be wooden/cringeworthy at times. Pacing:This movie was perfectly paced. This movie never got boring. The movie was very easy to keep up with. The movie flowed very nicely.Visuals and Sound Effects:This visuals were great for the most part. However, a little bit of the CGI is noticeable at times. The CGI in this movie is much better than Episodes 1 and 2 though. The sound effects in this movie are perfection. In Conclusion:I really like this this movie. Though it is not perfect, it still holds a special place in my heart. Could the acting, dialogue, and CGI have been better? Absolutely. Still, it is a great movie. Score: 80%

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith is enjoyable in its significance, due to the build up in story and the introduction of Darth Vader, but the weakest of the prequels in my opinion. The poor writing and illogical thinking of the characters is pretty hard to overlook. Palpatine basically telling Anakin he is a Sith Lord, then Anakin reporting it to Windu and Windu taking three Jedi's who die instantly and then Windu slowly striking at Palpatine while Anakin who Windu doesn't trust is standing next to him asking him not to kill him, to have him stand trial which is the Jedi way and Windu striking anyway. This whole part is quite horrible, poorly acted and ridiculously illogical. The Jedi's in this film die like flies, all just to get to the required point in the story. Obi-Wan on the other hand is terrific and almost single-handedly carries the film. Taking what might otherwise be laughable, to be tragic and yet still hopeful, as the next film is titled. Yoda's advice to Anakin was pretty bad also.Darth Sidious: Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth... Vader. Padmé: Anakin, you're breaking my heart! You're going down a path I cannot follow!Yoda: Into exile, I must go. Failed, I have.

They should have stopped with Return, but then we wouldn't have gotten a lightsaber fight over lava.

Everyone loves ROTS, and don't get me wrong I love it too, but it's still a prequel with hokey acting, dated visuals and some bland characters. McGregor, Oz, and Jackson make the prequels worth watching, and as I said before this is a good film, but to say it's the best Star Wars film is a long shot for me. The prequels took focus from the stories away in favor of world building, but this film focuses back on the story and puts things on track to stick the landing. (albeit a little bumpy) This definently has some of the best sequences and scenes in any SW film. The Mustafar fight, Order 66, General Grevious vs Obi-Wan. As I said before the visuals for this film have become SOOOO dated it's not even funny, normally I wouldn't complain, but The Lord of the Rings came out around the same time, and this is Star Wars they are known for there Visual Effects. Hayden Christiansen's acting is bad, but I blame that on Lucas' direction, and Portman clearly just isn't into it (feeling more like a daytime SOAP actor, and yeah I know Star Wars is like a soap opera, but it's also a big budget blockbuster movie, so come on.) I prefer The Original Trilogy and The Sequel Trilogy over this film, but it's well made and I still get goosebumps when I see that mask draped over Vader's face.
