Best movie of this year hands down!
How sad is this?
Don't listen to the Hype. It's awful
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Well, this is definately a horror story, a bit unusually ploted, its also a drama and a thriller. i did like the horrish angle come through ms zellweger, and the feeling youll never get rid of that black shadow in your life. ive never heard of case 39,and it was a pleasure to watch. dont elevate your expectations , just delve into it
The fact that this had been shelved for years made me think this would be howlingly bad... it's not that bad. There are some ridiculous parts, to be sure. It's acceptable bad. Not enough to scare, not enough to laugh. Also not bad enough to turn off.
Case 39 is a pretty good thriller/ horror movie that is heavily influenced by The Omen. While I hate the remake of The Omen, I love the original film and am open to watching something along the same lines. This film fits the criteria. Case 39 has its flaws, but overall I found this to be enjoyable. The evil kid/supernatural elements are nothing new and have been done to death in cinema, but like the original Omen film, this is up to the audience to decide if this is actually happening or if this is all in the mind of an overworked and unstable social worker. Case 39 might have worked a bit better if it chose to play as a horror film or as a thriller, but the fact that Case 39 does not clearly choose a genre so clearly sets it apart a bit. However, it does rely heavily on conventional approaches to both. The psychological aspects are done well and is pretty well acted. The atmosphere is foreboding also. I would not regard Case 39 as a classic, but I did enjoy it, even if it is in a lot of ways very standard or predictable.
In Case 39,a social worker investigates the case of Lilith Sullivan and her cruel parents. When she just about saves her from being brutally murdered, she takes her in to stay with her giving motherhood a try only to discover this sweet, precious, afraid little girl is actually something far more older, horrible and not one bit afraid..a demon. Case 39 is a child horror film which some i like like Orphan,The Omen and The good son then there's some i hate like child's play, the babadook and Poltergeist remake. This film is absolutely awesome,so scary, some really good effects, not that much CGI accept for the ending scene which was OK and don't worry,i want spoil,i don't usually anyway but yeah. Case 39 is a very good, kinda creepy horror film
