Excellent, Without a doubt!!
It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.
The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Good watch. Great Finale Twist. The last few minutes ruined it for me. Would have rated higher if it ended with that awesome finale. Wonder why they would choose to twist again and mess up the cleverness with a Dallas? ... Jonathan Rhys Meyers continues to be an outstanding talent.
Outside a mountain town grappling with a series of abductions and murders, Paul (Antonio Banderas), a reclusive writer, struggles to start what he hopes will be a career-saving screenplay. After a tense encounter at a diner with a drifter named Jack (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), Paul offers Jack a place to stay-and soon the edgy, demanding Jack muscles his way into Paul's work and the two men begin a jagged game of one-upmanship that will bring at least one tale to an end. Black Butterfly was a film that for quite some weeks now i wanted to see cause of Antonio Banderas and after seeing it i gotta say it wasn't that good, the acting from Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Antonio Banderas was good don't get me wrong and the twist was clever but a few good performances and a nice twist in the end can't save a film that is simply boring and bad as it is. The romance between Banderas and Perabo wasn't there, there were many scenes inside the Cabin and that made it a bit boring for me and last but not least it takes somewhere around 42 minutes to get to the whole "hostage" situation. Overall Black Butterfly is a boring 93 minutes film with a few good performances by it's 2 leading men and a nice twist that i didn't see it coming but it's still not enough to get the audience hooked on, who have seen the exact same plot in much better movies of the Past.
~ starts out flat, with almost no character development, lots of dialog but no real interaction between them and their actions, becomes boring and predictable at a certain point; then it hits you, and for 2 minutes it becomes a great f*****g movie only to mess up everything in the end and give you the cheapest solution possible.
Why do they do this? When you have a decent ensemble and possibly a great script...only to be let down by the final act.I won't go into the detail of the movie, sufficed to say the film goes at a fair rate and the direction is good, as one is constantly trying to think 'where's the plot heading', AND THEN, OMG, the big reveal and the 'Bobby Ewing' was a massive let down.I know in modern times, everyone tries to do the M. Night Shyamalan, twist, but REALLY? And to make it worse Antonios' confession isn't even hinted at, or is why the FBI are on to him, as there were no clues left at any of the scenes.Have to say, I wasn't expecting much, and for an hour I was pleasantly surprised and impressed... Shame.
