The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Okay sit down y'all, because I'm going to tell you a story. The story of the WORST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN.A few days ago, my friend and I were having a phone conversation like we do most days. We were talking about what movies were out, do we want to go to the theater this weekend, etc., etc. My friend suddenly burst out laughing, like she just remembered something. "What is it?" I asked. Poor, naive me from a few days ago. "You've gotta come over," my friend said between peals of laughter. "My mom got me this movie, and it's the worst movie I've ever seen. You have to see it."Foolishly, I agreed. I went over to her house, we loaded up on ice cream and popcorn, and my friend put in the disc.I would have rather gotten a tooth pulled. I'm pretty sure my eyes started bleeding at some point during this film.Waiting For Forever is what some might call an original story. I would say it's more like several clichés wound into a confusing series of subplots, wrapped up in a headache-inducing patchwork of goofy sweetness and depressing issues that the movie didn't even begin to tackle in the way they deserve. The cherry on top is the honest-to- God murder. We've got the quirky main character who marches to the beat of his own drum. We've got the main character's normal family who is concerned for his well being but just can't get behind his life choices. We've got the workaholic who hasn't seen her family in years because she's focusing on her career. We've got the workaholic's dysfunctional parents who love her. We've got unrequited childhood love. We've got lots and lots of walking and talking (but Before We Go did it better. If you're looking for a heartfelt indie romance, watch Before We Go.).Oh yeah, and the murder. Can't forget about that one.The main character in question, Will, is without a doubt mentally handicapped. That's not even a question. He's dealing with delusion and pain following a traumatic childhood event of which he didn't process his grief properly. He should be getting therapy, not be labeled as "harmless" and "whimsical". My favorite character was Will's brother, because at least he recognized his brother's problems and wanted him to get help. Everybody else in this movie is just an enabler.Rather than seek the help he needs, Will opts to travel around the country, stalking his childhood best friend Emma. He conveniently leaves the stalking part out when he shares his life story to the people he hitchhikes with. He wears blue checkered pajamas with a black vest, a black bowler hat, red converse and a single hoop earring. I wish I was making that up. And I really wish I could have a chat with the wardrobe department. According to Will, pajama pants help his legs move better or something, which he punctuates by rolling around the patio like he's having a seizure.I'd also like to note that he makes his living by juggling. JUGGLING. HOW?!?!?!?! How the heck does someone make a living by JUGGLING??? My eleven year old brother can juggle. If he went out on the street and tried to juggle, I definitely would not give him money.Emma's parents are equally creepy. The worst moment in the entire movie was when Emma's mom basically told Emma's dad that she wished he was dead, after the dad said some pretty hurtful and awful stuff from his spot in the bathtub. It was too horrific to be laughable, but the acting was too bad to be taken seriously. I was left stranded in some borderland of shock and revulsion.Oh yeah, and then there's the subplot where Emma's ex (Warner from Legally Blonde, except he's bald now because of God-only-knows-why) accidentally murders a guy by pushing him into a table. You read that right. Gone are the ridiculous spy movies where characters survive falls off ten story buildings. This guy died because he was pushed into A FREAKING TABLE. A TABLE. I'm getting angry just typing it.The movie ends with Emma and Will ending up together. There's a great message. If your childhood love doesn't like you back, follow her around the country for a few years in your pajamas until she realizes how special you are.

A dreamer is without a job has been in love with a woman named Emma Twist (Rachel Bilson) most of his life, sets out to find the young actress, so he can tell her how much he loves her. Unfortunately his brother (Scott Mechlowicz) thinks he needs help, and people tend to judge him harshly. Emma has issues of her own with a couple of dysfunctional parents, especially her Dad (Richard Jenkins) I saw this a few months ago. I was bored, and in the mood for something romantic to watch. I chose this, and went in with very low expectations. It ended up exceeding the expectations I had, and I shut it off with a smile on my face. The character of Will (Tom Sturridge) will probably have people divided with what they think about him. Personally, I liked his naive character. It was very pleasant, and he was such a good hearted soul, I couldn't help but like him. I think many of us, including myself have often been confused of what they truly wanna do for a living. I managed to empathize with that. Rachel Bilson is cute as a button, and a woman I would do anything to be with. I related to what she was going through, and understood her actions. You'll love her. Richard Jenkins & Blythe Danner are excellent as the parents of Bilson's. The ending is really heartwarming and you'll feel very happy after itFinal Thoughts: It's just a nice romantic film for whenever you're in the mood. It's innocuous fun, and these days that's all I look for. Recommended7.4/10

i would have never seen this movie because of its ratings here. but the lead actress has the face very similar to girl i liked secretly for last 19 months. i searched for Rachael Bronson movies after i saw her in jumper. and waiting for forever seemed perfect.it really moved me in spite of having similar character as me having his own reasons for the similar situation he had in movie as me. maybe because its the magical touch of the director to the character that he is so likable even if haven't really achieved anything in (traditional sense) in life to tell others. its similar to the our idiot brother feel but in most romantic way so more likable.even people in the small roles are likable. i am keeping this movie in my hard drive forever for you know what occasion ;)watch it with you loved once and don't miss it if you have an awesome love story of your own with your partner.

I don't have enough words to express how much I love this movie. Storyline - Perfect.Acting - I must say I'd never heard of tom sturridge before this, but after 'waiting for forever' be assured you will be hearing of him in the future. He is pure acting talent that truly deserves to be recognised worldwide. His portrayal of Will is fantastic and he perfectly captures the character of a man still emotionally in his childhood. Will whole heartedly loves Emma; there is no room for doubt on that statement, and it that love that has created the path of his whole life. Rachel bilson puts on a believable front, as do the rest of the actors in this film, but it is clear Tom sturridge is the real star in this movie and fully deserves credit for this role. Soundtrack - One of the best i have ever come across, everything fits in perfectly with the scene and truly enhances your viewing experience. I think to understand the character of Will and to really understand this story you have to be mature and not looking for a typical Hollywood romance because 'waiting for forever' is not that...it is so much more, so much better...its the perfect tale of a real, pure, un-doubtable love. To those who would use the words 'boring' and 'stalker' i would say...grow up. Real love isn't like the Hollywood film; real love is like the love shown in 'waiting for forever'I would love to recommend this movie to everyone but realistically i cannot do that because not everyone will understand this movie and that is a real shame, but to anyone looking for something real, sweet and heart-warming, 'waiting for forever' is perfect for you.
